I'm just starting out and I don't know what type of foam blank to use and with what resin.

There are 2 types of foam blanks: polyurethane (PU) blanks and polystyrene (EPS) blanks.

A block of PU foam, can be laminated with polyester resin or epoxy resin.

On the other hand, an EPS blank must be laminated with an epoxy resin. Polyester resin melts polystyrene.

Note that for a beginner, it is preferable to work with polyester resin and PU blank, working with the resin and sanding it is easier.
